Maverick Actor

Sam Buffington was a prolific character actor in his short life, appearing in several Maverick episodes, as well as many other series and some films, beginning in 1957. He also starred as the title character of CBS Radio's Luke Slaughter of Tombstone. Buffington is probably best remembered for his recurring role as John Richards in Whispering Smith. He cut a promising acting career short when he committed suicide in 1960.[1]
