Rancher near King City,[1] Kansas,[2] in 1872.[1] (February 22, 1842 – September 6, 1912)[2]
In September of 1872, Hanley agreed to ship his cattle on the Brasada Spur at ten per cent below the Great Western Railroad's rates. When Bart Maverick needed men stop Rufus Elgree's mob from destroying Brasada Sput property, Hanley offered the help of fifty of his and other local ranchers' hands.[1]
