MacGregor, Dorritt

Personal valet to Belle Morgan at the Bella Union Hotel in King City,[1] Kansas,[2] in 1872.[1] (January 14, 1822 – October 16, 1909)[2]

Scottish woman who tended to Belle Morgan's personal needs, especially in looking after Belle's prized terrier, Yum Yum.[1]

In August of 1872,[2] Dorritt discoverd Yum Yum had wandered off in the Bella Union Hotel and desperately searched the halls. As Dorritt passed Bart Maverick at his hotel room door, she asked if he had seen the dog. Bart told her he had seen a dog the size of a Shetland pony. Dorritt, concerned for Yum Yum's safety, passed the story on to hotel staff that dogs the size of Shetland ponies had been seen wandering the halls. She was greatly relieved when Bart returned Yum Yum to Belle's office later that day.[1]
