Maitre d' at the Bella Union Hotel in King City,[1] Kansas,[2] in 1872.[1] (May 7, 1819 – March 19, 1898)[2]

A very cordial and professional gentleman.[1]

In August of 1872,[2] the maitre d' intercepted Avery Cartwright as he attempted to approach Belle Morgan at her dinner table at the Bella Union Hotel. Even though Cartwright was a principle stockholder of the Great Western Railroad, the maitre d' informed him that Mrs. Morgan only discussed business by appointment in her office, and there were no exceptions.[1]
