From Bret and Bart's hometown of Little Bend, Texas to Bret's retirement years in Sweetwater, Arizona Territory, the Maverick Saga reaches well beyond the individual stories depicted on episodic television. Along with the incidental back stories, spin-offs, tie-ins, licensed fiction, and inferred references, there is a much grander mythos set against the real history of the American West.

As each story is studied and pieced together with the others, we follow the Mavericks across the western frontier, and beyond. Through them, we experience historic events, great and small, fictional and factual. We travel with them to far-flung locales, real and imagined. In this exploration, Maverick as "the Legend of the West" truly emerges. The stories are examined to uncover their place in the Saga's fictional, historical and geographical context. For Maverick aficionados, the results are sometimes amusing, often surprising, and always entertaining.

Explore Maverick Trails in production order, chronological order, or as the Mavericks themselves would... wherever the game may lead.
