ace-deuce or acey-deucie
The roll of a one and two in craps, a losing roll. [1]
War of the Silver Kings: An inebriated Joshua Thayer introduced himself as an “ace-deuce” to Bret Maverick, meaning "a lost cause." Bret responded by throwing an ace-deuce with a pair of bar dice and, turning them over, exposed an eleven and remarked, “There’s always a natural on the bottom.”[2]
