cutter
Sailing vessel with a single mast designed for speed rather than capacity.[1]
The Wrecker: In January of 1871[2] during a pearl-fishing expedition, Paul Carthew and his shipmates[3] aboard the Currency Lass[4] were chased by a Dutch cutter. They were able to lose the cutter in a fog, but crashed their ship into a reef.[3]
