Frankie
Saloon entertainer at the Golden Nugget Saloon in Deadwood, Dakota Territory,[1] in 1877. (November 17, 1852 – May 25, 1927)[2]
A singer and dancer in St. Louis, Frankie met and was hired by Madame Pompey to join her group of female entertainers[1] in April of 1877.[2] She traveled with Pompey and the rest of her newly recruited showgirls from St. Louis up the Missouri River aboard the Dakota Queen[1] to Fort Pierre, and then along the Fort Pierre to Deadwood Trail[2] into Deadwood itself. There, she began working with Pompey's girls at Tony Cadiz's Golden Nugget Saloon and met Cadiz's trusted cashier, Jack Blair, with whom she began a romantic relationship.[1] In May,[2] Pompey paid them $200 for their help in convincing Cadiz to accept her $10,000 bet on her Mystery Man, Noah Perkins, in a boxing match at two-to-one odds against Battling Kreuger.[1]
