Henry
Resident of Hallelujah, New Mexico Territory in 1876.[1] (February 8, 1802 – January 28, 1894)[2]
In September of 1876, Henry witnessed the escape of Cliff Sharp robbing the Hallelujah Wells Fargo office after killing the clerk. Henry testified against Bret Maverick, captured for Sharps' crimes, at the trial as an eye witness and — in a saloon wagering pool — bet that Bret wouldn't tell where the Wells Fargo money was hidden before the hanging. He wagered ten dollars that Bret would not reveal the money's location and attended Bret's hanging. He was playing cards with Sheriff Chick Tucker in the sheriff's office when Molly Sharp rode into town claiming to be Bret's widow.[1]
