In November of 1871,[2] the clerk registered Bret Maverick into the Hotel Bossert. Four nights later, Brother Bart arrived asked the clerk where he could find "Mr. Maverick." The clerk, who had been told to keep the game private and allow no one but Bart to disturb them, asked who he was. Upon learning he was Mr. Maverick's brother, the clerk directed him to Room 119.[2]
