Lincoln, Abraham
Sixteenth President of the United States of America (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865)[1]
Served as President from March 4, 1861 until his death by assassination on April 15, 1865 and led the United States through the Civil War. In so doing, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery in the United States, strengthened the federal government and modernized the American economy.[1]
Escape to Tampcio: From 1876 to 1877, a portrait of Abraham Lincoln hung in Steve Corbett's office at La Cantina Americana in Tampico, Mexico, as part of a cherished collection of American mementos.[2]
