Lone Star Hotel
Hotel in Clayville,[1] New Mexico Territory, in 1878.[2]
Owned by Austin, Texas native Joseph F. Bennett, and named for his home state.[2]
In July of 1878,[2] Bret Maverick visited Clayville on his way[1] from Sweetwater, Arizona Territory[2] to Silver Springs,[1] New Mexico Territory. Bret spent one night at the Lone Star Hotel before moving on.[2]
