Louie
Townsman[1] in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory,[2] in 1876.[1] (June 30, 1823 – September 9, 1884)[2]
Living in an old red shack, Louie would often park his wagon in an empty warehouse belonging to an Italian neighbor two streets away. In July of 1876, Quincy Bigelow threw Judge Somervell's suitcase through an open window in the warehouse, where it landed in the back of Louie's wagon amongst a load of Louie's random junk. Shortly afterwards, Louie drove his wagon home and emptied it out in his junk yard, along with the contents of the suitcase, which contained documents incriminating the Stuart Machine. The next day, Bart Maverick was searching for the missing suitcase and determined it must have landed in a wagon that had been parked in the warehouse but was now gone. The warehouse owner told Bart the wagon belonged to Louie, where he could find him, and to tell Louie to keep his wagon out of his warehouse. Bart visited Louie and found the documents in his junk yard. He asked Louie if he knew of a bank in town that had safe deposit boxes and Louie recommended the First National Bank. Bart paid him a gold piece for the information.[1]
