Pine Hill
Hill along the Tomah Stage route about a mile east of the Packsaddle Station,[1] Nebraska, in 1875.[2]
Situated on the western edge of the Sandhills region in northern Nebraska. Named for the stand of ponderosa pine that stood on the hill in the 1870s. The pines were cut down and used to build cabins and other local structures in the late 1870s and early 1880s.[2]
At the Packsaddle Station in July of 1875,[2] Rip Fallon reported to his father Mart that he saw the dust of the west-bound Tomah stage coming in on the top of Pine Hill.[1]
