Card game played by a single player, originated in the 18th century Europe.[1]
Often played to simply pass the time when one is alone.
Stage West: In July of 1875,[2] Simmons played solitaire while waiting with Bret Maverick, Linda Harris and Mart and Rip Fallon for Wes Fallon to return to the Packsaddle Station with $15,000 from the Fallon Ranch.[3]
