Sweet Betsy from Pike
Traditional American ballad, with lyrics originally published by John A. Stone in 1858 The song is about a pioneer woman and her lover Ike from Pike Coutny, Missouri on their way to California during the Gold Rush. The melody was extracted from the British song,"Villikins and his Dinah."[1]
Point Blank: Whistled by Bret Maverick as he strolled through the streets of Bent Forks,[2] Nebraska in 1871.[3]
