Tidewell and Valley
General mercantile in Whiskey Flats,[1] Nebraska, in 1877.[2]
Founded in March of 1877, owned and operated by Bill Tidewell and Tom Valley. Established in the early days of Whiskey Flats, the business was operated out of a tent.[2]
In April of 1877,[2] Bret Maverick stood outside Tidewell and Valley when the Whiskey Flats town marshal called him out by name. Dandy Jim Buckley had planted his pocket watch in Bret's coat and had the marshal arrest Bret for pickpocketing.[1]
