Maverick Actor
Murvyn Vye was a Yale-trained character actor. His tough appearance landed him the role as Jigger Craigin in the Theatre Guild's 1945 production of "Carousel," which led to offers to go to Hollywood. He appeared in a few films in the late 1940s, most notably as Merlin in "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court." Through the 1950s and into the late '60s, he appeared mostly in many character parts in television productions, as well as his recurring role of Lionel in The Bob Cummings Show.[1]
